Jamie & Will's Lodge at Nordman Lake Wedding

Jamie and Will did not have your average wedding! The Michigan natives flew in from California a few days before the wedding, where I collaborated with a good friend and fabulous photographer, Esme McClear, to do their engagement session in a field near their AWESOME outdoor wedding venue, The Lodge at Nordman Lake. Here are my photos if you missed them! We then photographed their wedding a couple of days later. I was amazed at all the adorable details that went into the wedding and how involved Jamie and Will were. They had tons of friends who clearly adore them and who worked hard to help pull everything off. The day was full of so many unique details, like how Will made massive pans of paella for his guests! What groom cooks for his own reception? Or how the aisle was lined with Queen Anne's Lace, the chuppah was handmade from branches with wildflowers woven in, and how Jamie's dress looked like it was made of petals. Guests enjoyed an amazing and colorful dinner as well as yummy desserts and were serenaded by an awesome 3 piece Depression Era jazz band, The Jalopy Brothers, during the ceremony and reception. See a sample of their music here. The pair even shared a special fireworks show over Nordman Lake with their guests. Needless to say, it was a very special day and I'm so glad I got to share it with the happy couple. Congratulations, Jamie and Will!
