Shaina, Greg and I braved a very cold morning recently to do their Ann Arbor engagement session! The sweethearts chose University of Michigan's campus because that's where Greg attended for his undergraduate degree and that's also where he got down on one knee and asked Shaina to marry him late last year at the Diag. I'm so excited to photograph your beautiful Weller's Carriage House wedding in May, Shaina and Greg! I know you are going to be a stunning bride, Shaina. Congratulations on your engagement!
I got to work with my friend and amazing photographer, Esme, recently for Elliot's "Bart" Mitzvah, themed after The Simpsons. It was so fun! We did Elliot's candid session a few months ago in downtown Birmingham, with several photos of Homer Simpson (aka Elliot's father Jeffrey) photobombing Elliot! We were cracking up with Elliot and his awesome and beautiful mom, Marla, most of the shoot but Elliot was great at keeping a straight face. His Bar Mitzvah service was at Temple Israel Friday and the big party was at the unique and industrial Crofoot in Pontiac the following evening. The room was decked out with floral arrangements by my absolute favorite, Parsonage Events, linens by Fabulous Events, and an amazing logo, incredible hanging decor and signage by Designs by Debbie LeClaire. Elliot and all of his friends enjoyed an AWESOME evening of entertainment and dancing courtesy of the always fabulous Startrax. The night was not complete until guests had devoured my personal favorite big event treat, ice cream cookie sandwiches from Eskimo Jack's. Enjoy several of my favorites from this special time in Elliot's life!

When my beautiful Petoskey bride, Kelly, contacted me about photographing her grandma's surprise 80th birthday party, I was so excited not only to work with her and her lovely family again, but to capture such a fun occasion! Cindy's birthday theme was "80 and Beautiful" and it was so very true. It was apparent - by everything from coordinating the surprise to the little details, like the custom menus displaying some of her favorite foods or the M&Ms with her name and the party theme inscribed on them - how dear she is to everyone! I loved watching each family member come in to surprise Cindy and then once the whole group was together, proceed to lovingly chat, hug and laugh all night. I'm so glad you asked me to capture this special occasion, Kelly! Enjoy the photos and Happy Birthday, Cindy! You're clearly a treasure. :)
