Emily & Jon's University of Chicago Engagement Photos
Emily and Jon are my second amazing couple I got to photograph this past weekend in Chicago. This loving and outdoorsy pair met and fell in love 5 years ago while studying at the University of Chicago, so the stunning ivy-covered campus made for a perfect engagement photo setting. Emily and Jon also showed me another spot they've enjoyed over the years, Promontory Point. According to Emily, when Jon was wooing her early in their relationship, they used to bike down to that area. On one bike. With Emily sitting and Jon standing. She later found out that unbeknownst to her, Jon's calves were actually killing him on all the hills, but he didn't want her to know that. I love it! Emily was certainly worth it. Enjoy several of my top choices from this session and stay tuned for more. Congratulations on your engagement, Emily and Jon! I'm so excited to photograph your wedding at Waldenwoods in August!
Katie & Mark's Chicago Engagement Session
Katie and Mark met 5 years ago when Katie walked into the shoe store Mark worked at to buy some running shoes. Mark left his number on her receipt and needless to say, the two hit it off! Both are from Michigan but live in Chicago and the two will be wed this July in Grand Rapids (can't wait!). They asked me to come to Chicago to capture their engagement session and what a treat it was. They showed me around several parts of Chicago, including North Avenue Beach, Michigan Avenue, the Chicago River, Fourth Presbyterian Church, and even Molly's Cupcakes! I had never been to Chicago for any extended time and certainly hadn't had the pleasure of photographing there yet. I thank God for safe travels on my drive, amazing clients like Katie and Mark, and the fun opportunity to do photos in a whole new city. Enjoy several favorites and be sure to check back for more soon! Congratulations, Katie and Mark!

Nick & Hannah's Milford Engagement Session
I've known Hannah since we were young'uns at our church, so you can probably imagine that I was very honored when she and Nick asked me to take their engagement photos since I'm booked on their September wedding date. The love these two have for each other and their sweet happy chemistry was so apparent to me at the session and it was so fun to capture! Hannah is a ballerina and ballet instructor, hence the shot with her pointe shoes, just in case you were wondering. I know both of these AMAZING people and they truly deserve each other. Nick and Hannah are really putting God at the center of their relationship and have read several books together to get closer to the Lord before getting married. What an honor it is to call them my friends. Congratulations, Nick and Hannah! Check back for some more photos soon!

Natalie & Luke's Ann Arbor Cobblestone Farm Wedding
Happy Monday, friends. Here's a little something to brighten this cloudy day. You may remember Natalie and Luke from their adorable Detroit engagement session I shared earlier this year. I got to photograph their gorgeous Cobblestone Farm wedding last weekend with Esme of Esme McClear Photography. We dodged the rain and were still able to get outside to use some of Cobblestone's stunning scenery as our backdrop. Natalie and Luke are some of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. I was deeply moved by Natalie's free spirit and her so-not-stressed demeanor. What an inspiration! And the daddy/daughter dance? Wait until I post some of those. It had me in tears. What a sweet and special day! I was so very honored to be a part of it. Love you guys and CONGRATULATIONS! Check back soon for more from Natalie and Luke's big day!

Eddie & Emily's Cranbrook Engagement Session
Goodness gracious, are Emily and Eddie cute or what? What a fun shoot. These Chicago residents came in recently for their photos at the always lovely Cranbrook. We got a great day weather-wise, which is truly lucky this time of year in Michigan. I loved seeing these cuties interact and I'm so honored to be photographing their wedding in August at Bay Pointe Golf Club! Congrats, you two!
